Respiratory Research Volunteers
Our Research
We have a large portfolio of respiratory research studies and trials covering all respiratory diseases, from very common respiratory diseases such as, Asthma, COPD, Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), which includes IPF, Pneumonia and Cystic Fibrosis (CF), to more rare diseases, such as Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM). New clinical research studies and trials are added to our extensive portfolio regularly and we are always looking for new research volunteers.
We will shortly be commencing a community based research project using the NIHR Nottingham CRF Mobile Research Unit and visiting various locations around Nottingham to assess the uptake and acceptability to breathing tests performed in the community mobile research unit for those at high risk of developing the lung condition called COPD? along with other research questions.
We currently have COPD studies requiring volunteers such as FASTCOPD and several more commencing very soon.

You can withdraw your consent for us to store your details and contact you at anytime and they will be permanently deleted from our records and system.

Our research aims to understand more about respiratory and lung conditions (which usually affect breathing) to help patients live more normal lives.
We need volunteers at our Respiratory Research Centre, at Nottingham City Hospital, to help us shape the way we conduct research. You can be involved throughout the whole research process helping us shape our projects and also as a research volunteer in these projects to understand more about the way your lungs function in response to the environment and treatments.
We have all seen the reward of successful research during COVID-19, such as the RECOVERY Trial, with the positive and potentially life saving findings on Dexamethasone, Regeneron and Tocilizumab, for which our research team here were involved in recruiting volunteers to, along with other research such as the the AstraZeneca/Oxford Vaccine and new biological treatments for Asthma and we continue to conduct world-leading respiratory research as we have been conducting for over the last 14 years.
We are always seeking new volunteers with respiratory/lung Conditions such as Asthma and COPD to help us with our important research and join our Volunteer Register.
We sometimes have studies for participants that do not have a lung condition. Healthy volunteers without a lung or respiratory condition are also welcome to join of volunteer register.
