In June 2015 two of our Senior Postdoctoral Research Fellows, Dr Amanda Tatler and Dr Rachel Clifford, were awarded prestigious Asthma UK/Medical Research Foundation grants worth £300,000 each. The awards received were two of only five awarded countrywide.
Dr Amanda Tatler will study how growing a 'breathing' copy of slices of lung in the lab can be used to better examine asthma.
Dr Rachel Clifford will study how marks (methylation) on our DNA sequence are altered in asthma and how that affects the way in which our cells and lungs function.
